Increasing Resistance to Corrosion in Composite Covers

 | Post date: 2023/05/7 |
In their research, AUT scientists found a composite cover that is practical in different industries such as aerospace and transportation because of the lightness of aluminum components, covered by composite which has other benefits like high resistance to corrosion and erosion and is useful for decreasing energy consumption.
Nazanin Shakiba, a postgraduate student of Amirkabir University said: according to the achieved results of this research, this project revolutionizes the approach and creates a new vision for developing the usage of the PEO method to produce different ceramic covers with variant and considerable features in industry that are also cheap.
This composite cover is produced by the Plasma Electrolyte Oxidation (PEO) method that is cheap and eco-friendly, it also decreases the primary expenses of aluminum pieces supply containing oxynitride composite covers, it is resistant to corrosion in aerospace and transportation industries that are main customers of these covers, in addition to the decrease in production expenses and essential environmental preparation in PLD industries.
Dr. Seyyed Mossavi Khoiee, an AUT faculty member has been the supervisor of this project.
