3D and Electrochemical Treatment of Water Resources in Treating Waste Water and Underground Water Resources

Applying nanotechnology, researchers at Amirkabir University of Technology devised a catalyst for 3-dimentional and electrochemical treatment of water resources which is also applicable for treating waste water of dairy factories.
Hassan Qanbarloo, a graduate of Amirkabir University of Technology and the project executor of “Economical synthesis of nano-electro catalysts based on nitrogenized graphene for 3-dimentional and electrochemical treatment of water”, stated: “the most complicated part of the task was catalyst synthesis using an innovative method and idea. Nevertheless, after clarifying the general procedure and the respective precursor for catalyst synthesis, identifying organic mediator produced during electrochemical treatment of water was one of the other complexities of the current project. This stage is one of the most important phases in electrochemical treatment of water resources, especially drinkable water of cities.”
Pointing out the competitive advantages of the project he declared, “Electrochemical treatment of water is one of the green methods which presents following advantages: system compactness, secondary pollution prevention, and unfocused application. Moreover, the process can be controlled remotely. Usually by adding electrode particles between main anode and cathode electrodes (in a 2-dimmensional system) 3D procedures are created.”
It is worth saying that Dr. Bahram Nasernejad, faculty member of Amirkabir University of Technology was the supervisor of the project and Dr. Yens Maff was the foreign advisor from Aalborg University in Denmark.
